concured. I saw them in Buffalo on October 10th and it was the best concert I've been to. They played Disposable Heros, Fade to Black and Whiskey in the Jar! Only two songs from St Anger luckily (they know it was a flop) and the show overall was awesome. They still have so much energy.

Yay. I liked the rehearsals DVD that came with St. Anger - pretty funny to watch. Also, the free MP3s have been decent - tho not the best quality. But hey, free is for me.

That would contradict his sentiment, which is correct. Metallica used to pown. Now they just suck.

They are still pretty good in concert--went to see them last year and they put on a great show. However most songs from St Anger give me a headache...so much that I want to drive my brains out with an ice pick. :|

For Whom the Bell Tolls, Fade to Black, Call of Ktulu, Battery, Master of Puppets, Sanitarium, Orion, One, To Live is to Die, etc...

Some pretty sweet music in the early-mid 80's... I suspected they inspired lots of people to play guitar as well...

I've got to give them a YAY just because of how cool their early music was

Voted Yay because they're my inspiration to play metal music, especially Kirk Hammet. But definately not my strongest metal influence as a band. Bands with more complex music like Shadows Fall and In Flames comes to mind. I love Metallica's old music, I'm indifferent about Load/Reload, and I think St. Anger just didn't seem like the metallica style. Not really thrash, not really anything noteworthy at all. I think they tried to take a new route with their music that backfired.

Also: Jason Newsted was a better bassist that contributed better style to the band than that new guy IMO.
