I can accept that.

Because we support GPU-accelerated physics, our $129 card that?s shipping today is faster than their new RV870 (code name for new AMD chips) that sells for $399.
Agreed. If nVid is late but significantly faster (which is what I, personally, expect) then they just need to leak specs and/or benchmarks when AMD launches.Originally posted by: SlowSpyder
I voted that they are silent because they are behind... though I think they could have the part out by the end of the year, not necessarily Q1 or after. They're reminding me of the Radeon 2900XT launch, though I think Nvidia will have plenty of performance when they launch (unlike the underwhelming 2900) though I see them being late to the game.

Yes, well... They also said:

I say out by Xmas as demos were to be ready in the next two weeks. And the tape out was up to two months ago depending on whose rumors you choose to believe. That gives them three months to get the card out and finalize the drivers. Also the 5870 x2 is rumored to come out in November and it should be made to compete against something as they will already have the fastest single card in the 5870. Why release the x2 so soon if they don't need to? And I would be silent right now if I had a monster card coming out soon as it would make AMD look worse than if they said right now that they have a 30% faster card than the 5870 in the wings. Most people wouldn't believe it and would think they were pulling a Kanye. lol
I believe the 8800GT came out late November in '07 and was difficult to find and I think this will be a similar launch. Cards will be available on Ebay for 20+% higher than retail especially if there are OC'd versions available at launch this time. Obviously the GX2 version will be at least late spring to early summer of 2010. That's my slightly educated WAG. lol

I think you just came up with the next one, hilter getting pissed off at hearing people are reusing his footage and adding sub-titles that make it seem like he's pissed off about everything that fails

I have no idea. There's no confirmed information and no benchmarks so how fast it is is completely up in the air. I'm just playing devil's(ATI's) advocate. It could be faster, it could be slower. I think when it comes out and the price tag is probably every bit as important as how fast it is.
