I have been having a problem with the following system:
Mobo: MSI Pro2-A
CPU: Duron 650 @ 800 (8x mult)
CPU Cooler: Chrome ORB
RAM: 384MB Mushkin PC133
SCSI: Adaptec 2930U
CD-ROM: Toshiba
CD-RW: Yamaha 8824SZ (uses SCSI card)
I have overclocking this system using the multipler and getting 800MHz easy. If I go to 8.5x, the system won't even boot, just beeps over and over. I am guessing I need a better cooler. So I started to up the FSB and can get up to 106 fine. However, my SCSI CD-RW craps out at that point and will only burn at lower speeds. I had a Tekram DC-315U in there before and Yamaha & Tekram said that was the problem. I switched to Adaptec and I still cannot burn at 8x when I O/C via the FSB. Anyone seen anything like this before?
Anyone else have problems with their SCSI cards when overclocking? Any other SCSI cards work well in an overclocked system?
