Possible ISP Issue

I'll keep it short.

Comcast broadband cable
linksys 52g wireless router

I sadly was downloading copyrighted material Sunday night. I decided to leave the download going over night and figured I would stop it Monday. Monday morning I noticed the internet went out some time during the night. I did the usual reset of the modem and then router. Neither did the trick so I went to work. When I got back it was still out. A couple hours later it came back on. All of my other room mates could connect but not me. What was even weirder was the fact that neither my laptop or desktop (downloading machine) could reach the internet. They both could (and still can) manuever around the house network but can't go any further than that. I did not make any hardware or software changes on either. I've reinstalled drivers, cards and even tried using a cable. Tonight I brought home my work laptop and it had no problem reaching the internet.

Any ideas?

Also, I can ping the other computer in my house but nothing outside of it.

Mmm... are you PPPoE or DHCP? Or... do you need to authenticate to get online?

It could be something with the IP or MAC address... are you getting an IP? Do "ipconfig"...

could they be blocking you ? did you call and find out ? Because its cable, I would think DHCP plus the router.

Restart the Router...and plan on doing that once a month or so.

I have DHCP enabled. It had been working for 9+ months before this past Sunday. I have an IP and the router seems to be fine. Does it seem like a provider problem if you can access you home LAN but not the internet? I would have figured it was a normal outage but every other computer used has no problem connecting.
I am doing a rebuild with new components on my desktop. If I really did get banned what piece of hardware contains the MAC address? I will be using the same (possibly banned) wireless card on the new build.

I see the error of my ways... But there is still the fact that my laptop will no longer reach the internet. I was doing nothing illegal on it, in fact I never have. I have had all kinds of connection troubles in the past but nothing like this. I am just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues?

Never ever... but... I dont think my ISP cares about copyrighted material here
