Here is my build so far:

  • Asus P5N32-E SLI+,
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.10,
    Seasonic M12-500,
    Lian Li PC-60B Plus II,
    Samsung SyncMaster 206BW,
    Intel® Core? 2 Duo E6600,
    NEC AD-7173A,
    XFX 8800 GTS/500 320,
    OCZ 2 GB DDR2-800 Kit,
    Windows Vista Home Premium (32bit)

    Total cost: E 1640

It is gonna be used mainly for gaming without any overclocking. I picked my parts from the site "www.alternate.nl", so I'm limited to the choices they give me. I haven't decided yet on which OS I am going to use but here are some parts I'm not certain about yet.

Asus P5N32-E SLI+, is this a good mobo? And will I need it (not going to OC), or should I just go with a P5B-xx instead?

Seasonic M12-500, the shop I am buying these parts from also had another version of the Seasonic S12-500HT. What are the differences or should I look at a different PSU?

Lian Li PC-60B Plus II, I wanted to get the PC-7B Plus II instead but they don't have it. This one looks really familiar to the PC-7B Plus II. Any specific differences?

NEC AD-7173A, I have no idea about burners... Since I rarely burn anything.. but since writes are dirt cheap, is this one also a reliable reader?

OCZ 2 GB DDR2-800 Kit, as I am not going to overclock, could I go with something cheaper?

Hehe, still alot of questions. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, it would be a fine system. But I would like to know a bit more. If anyone could answer a few of my questions that would be great. It's just that I might want to save some Euro's on some parts or spend more on another.

I want to be especially sure about the mobo and the pc case, since I'm not gonna change them anytime soon.

Looks like a few replies didn't read OP's post.

OP: If you are not going to overclock, here are the adjustments I'd make if I were you -

motherboard -> any decent P965 chipset board. Asus P5B or Gigabyte DS3 are good choices
RAM -> the cheapest set of DDR2-533 will do, as without overclocking this is what all RAM will run at anyway

This should save you a bit of cash!

Aah thx for your input.
Only thing now is that I am still kinda unsure about the case. I wanted the PC-7B Plus II, but I could only find the PC-7B Plus.

New config:
  • Asus P5B Deluxe,
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.10,
    Seasonic M12-500,
    Lian Li PC-60B Plus II,
    Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium,
    Samsung SyncMaster 206BW,
    Intel® Core? 2 Duo E6600,
    LG GSA-H42L,
    XFX 8800 GTS/500,
    G.E.I.L. 2 GB DDR2-667 Kit,

Total costs: E 1604. 40 Euros cheaper than the other setup.

You really want the Lian Li PC7B Plus II. The reason is the PC60 and the PC7B both use 80mm fans, while the PC7B Plus II uses 2x 120mm fans plus 1x 80mm top blowhole. Newegg has the case.

Too bad I'm from the Netherlands.. and yes I want the PC-7B Plus II . They only have the regular Plus... Gonna send them an e-mail when they are gonna get it. The PC-60B Plus II seems to be alot louder.
