A while back, I noticed my HD was not working very well, so I ran the SeaGate tools and they determined that it was defective. I got RMA and a new drive, but with new install of windows I have been having a problem.
Everything installed fine and the computer ran nicely for several reboots/shut downs. However, when I shut down for the night and came back the next morning, it started to hang about 15-30 seconds after Windows started (saw desktop and mouse and everything fine). I noticed it happened everytime the New Hardware Found balloon popped up saying "USB Root Hub."
After being frustrated, I tried zerowriting and reinstalling the whole system, this time not installing the USB drivers from CD like I had last time. Same thing happened, worked fine for several reboots/shut downs, but next morning, it hung at USB Root Hub.
Zero write, reinstall, disable everything USB possible. Next morning, hang.
I've flashed the BIOS, tried disabling USB in BIOS, about everything myself and a few others could think of but am still having the problem. It also happens in safe mode, and the computer detects this as a "working bootup" so System restore and what not does not work.
Any suggestions??
