I just took this neat little picture last night during a thunderstorm. Here's the specs...

Taken from an open window, during the middle of the night (about 3 AM) during a thunderstorm. So it's actually pitch dark out, and raining heavily. The exposure is set for 5 seconds with the aperature set at 2.8. Flash is set at the highest intensity with a very quick burst at the beginning of the exposure. Atmospheric lightning strikes about twice during the exposure. So what happens is the flash bounces off all of the raindrops in the air, freezing them. It also illuminates the leaves of the tree. Lightning then flashes in the sky lighting up the rest of the area. Leaves in the photo not illuminated by the camera flash have motion blur due to high winds.
