Soccerpuppyman,

Thanks, I tagged this post into my favorites to re-read when I'm ready to work on IB. I looked up some of the amps on amazon and the pricing is pretty cheap.

Yes I am serious about low bass. I have an Epik Conquest right now 18" dual ported 1000W RMS, I think it easily gets below 10hz. I must reproduce/surpass this feeling in my main theater room, the conquest won't fit.

I plan to build an IB sub array into my theater stage under the screen, firing up.

Thanks!

Moved from a big house in the middle of no-where to a downtown condo / loft in Minneapolis.
Old setup was a room that was almost as big as the whole new condo... but it, I still got most of my stuff in.

...pics were from shortly after the move, so all cables hadn't been "Cleaned" up yet....

110" fixed frame screen - Projector is an Optoma HD20

Gaming / HTPC right next to the screen

Currently just leasing the place, and with concrete floors / ceilings mounting the projector was a bit tricky.... the jerry-rig mount

New couch that better fills the space

Components
Screen - 110" fixed from
Projector - Optoma HD20
Receiver - VSX-921-K
Fronts - Sony F7000 (older style)

Ive got them made, it was just a pain in the ass living in the middle of no where with the nearest store that carried 4x8 mdf was an hour away, and most milling places wont do it or were too extreme in cost.

looks great but it's a bitch to photograph. Now I just need to get it to handshake to my AVR.

looking good iRONic.

i was looking at klipsch myself before i ended up going with my jtr speakers. i was looking at the rc64 ii with rf7 ii for the front stage. went to a guys house who had a full klipsch setup and it sounded nice but it was as bit too bright for my personal tastes after extensive listening. definitely a very good sounding system though.

Yeah, Klipsch speakers aren't for everybody. Hell, horns aren't for everybody. Heh heh...

Pair of Sierra-1s with RAAL 70-20XR tweeters. These monitors are pretty sweet, the tweeter is quite incredible. Can't wait to see what Ascend has up with Sierra-2 as I think these woofers do lag behind the tweeters in quality; Ascend has upgraded the tweeter twice on these from $70 to $300 and now $1k tweeters, but the woofer is still the same old same old. It kind of reminds me Usher upgrading their tweeters to Diamond on their BE line when the tweeter was pretty good to start with; it was the woofer that fell somewhat behind.

Got my VT50 wall mounted now and ran the cables behind the wall last week. It's like being at the movies or at the game now. From 27" CRT to 55" HDTV is amazing!

Old Panasonic Tau 27" CRT

Wiring down the wall plate

VT50 in it's final resting place!

it's difficult to get the height of plasmas correct when you also want to game on them (i.e. kinect or PS3 move). I had to put mine somewhere in the "middle".

I was worried it was too high, but it's extremely comfortable to view at that height. I've got the set tilted downward towards the seating area.

I've given up using quality speaks on my desktop, but your Sierras are making me reconsider. What are you driving them with? Any interaction issues with the desk surface?

HDMI + Yamaha RX-A3000 receiver.

The bass is a little bloated from table reflections, so I manually pad it down a bit via EQ. The alternative I suppose is to get some of those aurelex mopads that tilt monitors up.

Velodyne DD-10 Plus, bass is very tight, sounds quicker than the Rythmik F12 I have downstairs.

edit:

Updated playing some Mass Effect 2.

Well, I'm getting there. Still need carpeting, drapes, some of my furniture brought back in and stuff rehung on the walls, but here is what I had:

But now this is where I'm at:

TV: Panasonic TC-P65ST60

Receiver: Nakimichi AV-10
Amp for fronts: Tandberg 3003A

Front Spkrs: Klipsch Cornwalls
Center Spkr: Klipsch KV-4
Rears Spkrs: Klipsch RS-35

Sub: M&K V-1B

Niles IPC-12 Line conditioner and switch box

Still using my PS3 as a source, but I don't like the fan noise it makes.
