It runs redhat. I don't really know or care how fast the hardware is. It's plenty fast enough toserve my websites.

Tbird 1GHz
256MB PC133
1x40GB 7200RPM
2x60GB 5400RPM
Dual Linksys NIC
Cirrus Logic 1MB ISA Video

It's nothing fancy but it does the job. For the longest time it was running caseless, up until around 2-3 months ago. It runs a firewall, net sharing software, Seti@home, SetiQueue, web server, ftp, and an IRC bot. It's also my LAN's file & music server.

Can see specs & pics of all my computers in my sig link.

Still got five systems running dual PII/300/512M: three webservers, the secondary news server, and the NFS server. Two dual PIII Xeon/550/1G (webserver and main news server), a dual PIII/850/2G (webserver), a dual PIII/1.1G/2G (mailserver), a single PIII/550/512M (mailserver that needs to be replaced), a single Athlon/1.3G/512M (security/monitoring machine also due for replacement), three dual UltraSparc/300/2G, one Hypersparc/150/512M, four assorted single-CPU DNS machines, either Pentium or Pentium-II based, and a single-CPU PII/450/512M backup server that spools the data from the other machines out to the tape libraries. Except for the DNS machines, pretty much everything is running some flavor of MegaRAID, the particular model depending on the age of the machine.

That's this week, anyway. As mentioned, two machines really need to be replaced and I'm still collecting parts to fill out the CycleQuad compute servers, which are quad UltraSparc machines with up to 4G of memory.

Which server? I have about 25 at the office and another 50 or so in the field I take care of. Then I have a personal server at home and my webhosting service.

On my counter at home I have a Quad Xeon 550 (1 MB), 1.5 GB, Fujitsu MAS series, gig E, etc.

It's a fun toy, I'll miss it.

At home?

I only have one going right now - running RedHat 7.3ish and SAMBA for hosting files. It's a slick little K6-3+ 450mhz with 256mb RAM. It runs very well, is dead silent, and never goes down. I love the old K6-2/K6-3 procs.

My old Presario is my server at home. Mobile AMD 1.2ghz w/ 512mb ram. Runs Gentoo. I only use it for development and such, and some file storage.
