LA is screwed up. You're either in Verizon DSL with no fios or TWC/Uverse purgatory. You can try sonic.net with their fusion service that's provided by DSLextreme but that's like 20Mbps/2Mbps if you live next to the CO. 1-1.5 Miles away and your speed drops to 3-6 Mbps.
