I just use the RC5 client to check The Win98SE box has been up 2 days 17 hours. The Lunix box has been crackin' for 30 days straight.

I also have a WinNT 4.0 Server at work with an uptime of well over a year now. The &quot;server&quot; in question is actually a Compaq Deskpro EP w/ a 333MHz Celeron A. Compaq and NT!!! Take that Linux.

seriously though.. I had an NT 4.0 Server machine (a P66 - yes, 66 not 166) 40mb ram up for ~6 months before my dad accidentily flipped the wall switch off, and I realized the hard way my box was plugged into one of &quot;those&quot; sockets. :Q

was up to 2 weeks or so.

windows 2000, the most stable windows o/s ever.

At work I had a system that was up for over 3.5 years, but I had to shut it down because they were replacing the UPS and power feeds there was no power to keep going.

The operating system was VMS. The longest uptime I've heard of is a VAX running VMS for the Irish rail system. It was up over 18 years (I don't know if it is still up or not). There have been a few threads in comp.os.vms about very long uptimes for VMS systems.

we have mainframes at the datacenter I work at (shameless plug of the website I made for my work - http://www.wtdroc.com) that have been up for 2-3 years


also there are PC's running OS/2 that control certain things on the mainframes that I've never seen rebooted.

also some dos based machines running specific interface programs controlling tape silos that haven't been rebooted in years either
