Power Supply Help

AMD 64 3000+ on a Epox 8KDA3J nForce3 250gb with 2x512MB Kingston Value RAM DDR, 120GB Western Digital 7200RPM Hard Drive, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, 3 case fans 1 lighted.

I'm looking to add a second hard drive to my system as a backup to my primary drive. I plan on buying another 120GB and using mirroring. The problem I am running into is that I am out of power connectors on my current power supply. The current power supply came with the case. The documentation claims it came with a 400W power supply.

Is this as simple as buying some sort of "T" for the current connections. I would think it would make sense to replace the current power supply since I've heard the ones that come with a case are not very good.

It would seem I would go with either an Antect True Power or something from Enermax.

If you feel that replacing the PSU is a good move. Go with EnerMax or FSP Group (Fortron or Sparkle). 400 watt minimum to 500 watt max. $50 to $100.

If you chose to stay with your current PSU, just buy some Y-connectors, they will double the 4 pin Molex plugs for every Y-connector used.

When you look at PSU's output specs this is what you want, 3.3V@ 25-30A, 5V@30-35A and 12V@25-30A. Now decide on 80mm rear fan or 120mm fan in the base of the PSU.
You do not need dual 12V rails or SLI ready.

Jab-tech.com, svc.com et al. sell clip-on power connectors (often called right-angle connectors) in many colors that can clip on any place along your current drive power bundles for new drives. Check those out as a cleaner potential alternative to power Ys.

First of all if it is running fine then why you wanna change. Poeple will tell you that, it is cheap powersupply change it other wise it will kill your hardware bla bla bla.

Well i have been using these kings of power supply for almost three years now with my other computers nothing happened. Well if you still really wanna change then buy Ultra Powersupplies they rocks and you can find it for $15 AR.

At one time they were being sold for $5 AR. That should tell you something.
