Power Supply Question

i was wondernig if someone could give me some suggestions on a high quality power supply that has lots of molex connectors....like i have a enermax 350 watt power supply from years back that has 8 molex connectors...around the $100 and under range is fine..thx

To power what? If you're happily chugging away with a 350W then have a look at the 400W fortron, then look for some Y adapters.

Edit: or just get the Y adapters.

Before we can give you anything even approaching a SWAG, we will need to know all the stuff you are going to power with the unit. I could just go...

Yeah man, I've got a 520 watt OCZ Powerstream and it rocks!

But hey, we're talking about your needs and your wife's money here! So as a result, I want to be carefull, that's all.

my bad i say about 7 hard drives all ide 7200 rpm drives, 2 dvd burners, and about 6 case fans...as far as motherboard nforce 4 ultra and an athlon 64 processor single core...for video card probably the 6800gs card...this is for a friend as i dont have as much in my computer...and as far as y adapters that is what im trying to avoid...if i have to its fine just trying to get a power supply with as many as possible

Are all 7 drives going to be in an array, or how are you going to arrainge them?

The 7 drives mean you're going to need a fairly hefty PSU, think 500W or so from enermax, fortron, seasonic, OCZ, PCP&C, antec (some models are better than others). The enermax liberty should be worth a look.

For a more scientific evaluation of what PSU you need check out JonnyGURU's thread at the top of this forum. Conservative numbers but you know you'll be safe with them.
