I just got the FSP350-60PN 350W, and it does have the manual adjustment for the fan. Seems like newegg's picture is wrong, this thing is also quite a bit more shiny as well...doesn't have that cheap feel to it.

So basically this is the exact same as the Aurora one as far as i can tell...just no LED fan.

This thing is also extremely quiet, I can't hear it whatsoever if i turn the fan down to lowest, the only problem with this heatsink is that it makes all my harddrives and my video card cooler very noticable in terms of noise

Very worth it though.

Excellent. My video card fan and case fans are pretty quiet, so this should work out well. It will be a far cry from the days of a HHC-001 and roaringly loud system fans.

Well I got my Aurora today- when they say silent they mean it. I am extremely pleased with it; not only is it quiet but it is handling my system just fine. Thanks again for all the advice, and I highly recommend the Aurora if you are in the market for a psu.

The silence is deafening.

I found that 400w Fortron only has 15-16A at +12V, that is equivalent to my old 300w antec. Fortron may be very quiet, but the power ability is quite in doubt according to their spec. Antec true430 offers 20A at +12V, don't know how quiet it is. No offense, just what I thought.

I have only very quickly skimmed the previous posts and want to add my support for Fortron PSU's. I currently am using the 350 watt variety. The stock sound level is not that great, but it's their super large heatsinks (especially in the 400w version), that makes them supremely excellent if you take the time to put in a severely undervolted fan. As others have said, the Zalman/SilenX PSU's are based off the Fortron. 70 dollars (NewEgg price, I think) is very good price for a 400w unit that can definitely hold its own against an Antec True430.

Fortron specs are conservative and so cannot be compared directly to el cheapo units. See THG for thorough reviews where Fortron variants are generally always at the top.

The 400 is a big step-up component wise from the 350's of the same type. Here's an old article that exposes the guts.

Hardly.
It may well be a good, quiet PSU, but compared to an Antec TruePower, in intensive situations, it doesnt compare, cos the 12v/5v/3.3v lines all use the same voltage regulators in PSUs that arnt made by Antec.
So in intensive situations, the Antec`s come out top.

Well let's say Antec brand 'cause they don't make anything but are contracted to CWT. It was probably an exclusive feature back when they were introduced but I don't know about now. The "TruePower" thing actually just seperates the 5V and 3.3V circuits which for many users is just a useless gimmick because with modern systems the CPU, VPU, and storage drives draw on the 12V circuit and the only device to draw any significant current off the 3.3V is the mainboard (perhaps a few amps) while virtually everything else uses the 5V. What gets me about Antec marketing is that their own specs reveal the product name to be a lie. Look at the True380, for instance, and the max output is 360!

Have you witnessed a case where a 350 watt powersupply would be sufficient and a Fortron wasn't able to handle it, and an antec could?

Actually yes. A friend of mine has a dual system with 8 HDs, 4 CD-ROMs a 9800AIW, and a load of other stuff that no <500W PSU would be able to handle. But, he has a 550W Antec that provides perfect power to all his componets. And his 12/5/3.3v lines dont falter, unlike his old 560W PSU, which was one that does`nt have seperate voltage regulators.

Im not saying that the Fortons are bad, far from it. They are just overrated, its seems to be a popular opinion that Fortrons are good, which they are, but not as good as you all are making ouy.
They may well be quiet, they may well be cheaper than most other quiet PSUs, but in a technicaly sence, they pale to Antec Supplys.
