powershot A75 @ circuit city...

Hi everyone, I'm kinda new to this forum so I hope you can help, i'd really appreciate it. If I'm in the wrong forum i apologize; please point me in the right direction.

I just today bought a Canon Powershot A75. They PMd me from best buy so I got it for $177, and I'm really happy to have such a good camera, but I'm kind of concerned because the box wasn't sealed. Usually they're taped or something. Also the manual, guides, etc are in a ziploc bag and were just in the box on the top. Everything looks neat and the camera came in one of those bubble wraps, but it wasn't taped either, like they just stuck it back in and returned it. it just looks kinda fishy. Usually I have to open bags and bags of stuff to get to my camera, and tape and twisty wire and stuff...

does anyone who has purchased this camera before remember how they got the camera in the box? I don't mind getting a return, but I'm not gonna pay full price for it!! Thanks in advance!

I bought two A75s from CC and they were packed exactly as you described.

BTW, awesome camera. I just upgraded to a 1GB CF card for mine--video fun!

whew thanks for the reply. I was scared to start playin with it but now I'll be busy all weekend. I love this camera!! Does it matter what type of CF memory I use? Does high-speed memory make a difference in the time between shots in this camera? Thanks again!

I have owned 3 Canons, and they were all packed like that. I've never seen a Canon box with tape or a tamper seal.

As for the memory, don't bother buying high speed memory, because that camera won't be able to take advantage of the speed. I have a standard and a high speed card for my G5, and they both take the continuous shots at the same speed.

thanks again for the replys fellas, you set my mind at ease, but now I have a problem...

I need to buy a cf card so I can have more memory. I found this but I've read many reviews of people saying they are slow. I know as you said the a75 can't take advantage of the high speed, but since it uses a multi-level cell the reviews say it's way slower than a regular cf card. I love the price but is it worth it? I want to be able to quickly take pictures, especially to take one right after the other. anyone have any experience with this card?
