Pre-RC1 Vista build 5536

I noticed there's a new build out, and did not see any other posts about it. Apparently this was going to be the RC1 release, but that's being saved now I guess.

I personally haven't seen or read much about it, but I've heard it's supposed to be a good deal better than the 5472 build, which I considered to be quite good.

So if anyone has anything to share about, put that up here...I'd like to see what people think.

I just installed it on my laptop. I don't really have an initial impression yet. The install was MUCH faster than Beta 2 though. So far, the display driver has crashed once on it though, then when it "recovered" the video started tearing really bad so i booted back into XP (mainly so i can run Perfect Disk). The performance analyzer gave my system a 2.8 overall performance rating (the disk transfer was responsible for this, which is why i wanted to run Perfect Disk). I don't have any screen shots uploaded yet, but I'll get some later today.

what video card were you running? Is there some way to avoid this?

I have a GeForce Go 6800. And the artifacts and glitches are getting worse. Its actually making it unusable for me. At least for me, this release seems to be buggy as hell. But it might just be some driver issues. I'm at work, so I can't tell if there's any updates or not for the hardware (still "patiently" waiting on nvidia to get off their ass and release some better drivers).

Also, while this build is definately much faster than Beta 2, I'm having a shitload of issues with it (kind of wish i hadn't installed it to be honest). Hopefully this is just a driver issue.

If you didn't notice, it's not a specific build 5536 forum. Also, it's not the most popular thread currently.

I think it'd be nice to have specific forums for separate builds. It's much easier to read specifically about a certain build.
