Prime95 Stability

I have my 3200+ Winchester @ 2.4 (9x267) with voltage at 1.6. If Prime runs on 10 priority with the large FFT torture test for 13 hours, and then busts what exactly does that mean? everything else runs fine- benchmarks, sandra, games...so, am I ok with 13 hour stability of Prime with stress maxxed out? My load temp was 57.

Thanks. I guess that means I'm ok. Second question. At what point will my performance suffer on the HTT? I have it above 2100 right now. If it comes down to around 1700, will that hurt performance? I just wonder because I may be able to achieve a higher CPU OC this way.

For gaming higher CPU clockspeed is better than the higher HTT/LDT.

So a CPU Increase from 2.4 to say about 2.5 with a HTT decrease of 2100 to 1700 would yield better performance in gaming and not be a detriment to other processes?

You could always benchmark it.

FWIW, my computer ran Prime95 for 13 hours without a hitch. Then 30 minutes later it bluescreened while idle.

Yes clock speed is more important. HTT speed doesn't make hardly any difference whatsoever...if any at all. Of course that's assuming you don't drop way too low.

Personally, I would back off or up the voltage to get to a more stable point. I certainly have applications that will cause problems with Prime95 is still stable, so if Prime errors out, I woul dback down a bit.

Everybody has their own opinion about stability. Mine is that I'll never notice 50 MHz of CPU speed, but I definitely notice each and every random reboot/BSOD.
