Challenges hosted by PrimeGrid can't be bunkered. If the other question is tasks per GPU, I think it's just one, but some testing with those monsters you have might be in order.

The fastest current NVIDIA GPUs take only a few minutes per task. Older/ weaker NVIDIA and AMD GPUs may take about an hour. Single CPU cores require tens of hours. Those who want to deploy CPUs should therefore let several cores work on the same task, which can be achieved via the Multi-threading: Max # of threads for each task switch in the project preferences.
I for one have got only some dated 16 nm GPUs, but also a bunch of high-core-count 14 nm and 7 nm CPUs, which could be useful given my GPU shortage. I am thinking of cooking up an offline performance test for WW, like the one which I have for LLR. But there is a lot going on IRL; I might not make the deadline. (Start is Saturday, 20:00 UTC = 13:00 PDT.)

My 1060 takes a little over an hour. My i7-6700 takes about 18 with all cores going. CPU cores are very slow.

I will tell you what a 3080TI and a 3090TI take shortly. Still assembling the parts.

It's still almost nothing compared to what some of you folks have, but I plan/hope to have a system with dual RTX 2080 Ti cards that I can use for the duration of the next PG challenge, so that should be about triple my normal potential output..

Nice! 2080ti's are still fantastic cards.

I have major electrical problems. Somhow fried my entire 20 amp bedroom circuit. Network is housed from there. Running on an extension cord. missing a bunch of comps, including the new 3090TI

Don't burn it down! Steady... Steady...

If it's bad, you might want to wait out this challenge. Power issues are NO JOKE. I worry about fires in the walls all the time when I'm mining, using about 2KW. (Edit: That's including both a 230V 20A and a 120V 20A circuit. I'm NOT trying to draw 2KW thought a "standard 15A 120V" plug / outlet.)

PS. Don't run a 3090 / ti rig on an extension cord.

Right now I am running 3 COMPUTERs, INCLUDING A 2080ti on an extension cord including all the routers and modems to keep the house up. Had to turn off a 3070TI until I fix this, it blows the breaker in a 15 amp circuit.. I somehow melted the 12 gauge wires on a 20 amp circuit.

OK, fixed the electric. I just used wire nuts and eliminated the outlet.

So, I have the 3090TI running. Default wattage 475, I set it to 400. Times before I set it were 4-5 minutes per unit. How is that ???

Call a blank electrician, Mark. I don't want to see you "burning up" (in) the competition.
I did all the electrical TO CODE WITH INSPECTIONS on both of my additions. Like I said its fine now, NO outlet.

*Shrug*. So you are qualified? OK. Just concerned about a good buddy.
OK, its now doing then at 4:13 per unit with the max wattage set down to 400 watts, How is that ????? performance wise ? I may stop this, as now I am dying to see the F@H times. This thing looks like a monster.

Technically an inspector would fail my gfix, as the wires burned off the insulation 3 inches back. But its the white wire (technically ground) AND taped up all the way back to insullation, and wires hanging in the air where I can see them. When I get my inheritance, I will call a licensed electrician to rewire all bad outlets. It may be as much as $10,000

I tested my temporary loaned dual 2080 ti machine on PrimeGrid today. I let it run WW tasks for six hours and running the standard 1 task per GPU the average run time was just under 7 minutes, and looking to score approximately 4M PPD total with the two GPUs. I let the i7-9700K CPU in that same machine attempt to run some tasks as well, and running one task per core (just for testing), they were estimated to take about 18 hours to finish. I didn't let them finish.

So, I have 2 cards running with now. 4:11 for a 3090TI and 4:52 for a 3080TI.

Edit: Now 3 3080TI's not sure the times on the 2 new ones yet.

Only tasks downloaded after 20:00 UTC/4PM EST will count towards the challenge FYI
thats why I did not start until now. At 9:30 PST, so I would only be 3 1/2 hours before the start to give me time to ramp up !
