We are Holding a commanding lead, but do people use bunkers in primegrid ?

Sometimes one CNT member has got small bunkers. Otherwise, no.

Massive bunkering at PrimeGrid is discouraged (and so far, never happened), mostly because of the large storage needs of the certificate files which are used for the fast validation scheme. I.e. the intermediate data which a client with a "main task" produces at several checkpoints during the computation, which are then cryptographically transformed by the server, and lastly received and checked as a "proof task" by another client. The PrimeGrid admins once said that they have some safeguards in place to block massive bunkering, without disclosing details of these safeguards.

With the BG sprint over we may see some pick up speed, even though it was a CPU project.

As you know, this is CPU + GPU

Well, its over and most of the personal places have remained the same, and the team.

Not sure if all the people stayed the same.

Invalid results being returned should be really rare. If you have one you should likely have lots of failed tasks on the same host. I think they put red marks next to WUs that failed.

OTOH, with the number of tasks you've done, a random cosmic ray-induced error isn't that unlikely, I suppose.

I have 20 invalid out of 6094, but they are all a validate error.

AC keeps it at 75f..and CPUs at 50% load, and temps at 100% were under 80C last I checked.
You literally told us yesterday it was 85F inside with the AC on.

Ambient temp doesn't matter much though. It's the CPU temp I was referring to or other component temps on the host having issues. Heat is the second highest issue that causes PG tasks to fail right behind unstable over clocks.

one day. But as Icecold found , its the 7950x3d. The 7950x3d is not overclocked, the memory is the "factory" overclock (I forgot the word)

That doesn't mean anything other than the fact that x3d skus are more likely to run hot under load due to the 3d cache stacked on top of the 7000 series.

In general at PrimeGrid, I would suspect too loose memory timings as a potential error source first. As for Ryzen 7000-X3D in particular though, I don't know a thing about how much margin is built into their core clock–temperature–voltage self regulation.

@Ken g6, thanks for the stats!

TeAm, congratulations to another victory!
And to Mark for 3rd individually, just with home computers.

18 GPU errors, only 2 CPU errors, on that pic. I understand of course the GPU could be influenced by the platform it is attached to, but @Markfw , how low do you have the power limited to on that GPU? Going TOO low can be an issue, same as overclocking too high. For that one card (assuming single GPU), you might want to up the power a bit.

ahhh, you may have found the issue ! 270 watts. The only thing is I have 5 4090s, why only this box ?

That pic doesn't show the whole picture.

That box has:
14 CPU errors
19 GPU errors
20 CPU invalids

This leads me to believe it's most likely RAM related or possibly the SSD/disk is going bad. The latter part I'm guessing because some of the errors are related to this error
"Error: gproof_102.ckpt: bad file (crc32)"

Could this be the result of a drive failing and not writing the data correctly? It's a stretch.

Which is why with both CPU and GPU tasks being effected I'm leaning towards something wrong with the system memory causing errors.

However, I do agree with Tony that even an under volt or power limit can cause errors just as much as an overclock.

Bottom line is. Something is up with that system and it's effecting more than one thing.

edit
Upon further investigation it seems the only valid CPU tasks were returned late on the 16th and on the 17th. No CPU tasks before that were valid results. This leads me back to a possible heat problem. If the temps got lower on those days, but was higher on the days before. Then that could be the problem.

Edit2
Also seems the CPU tasks that got marked invalid took more time than those CPU tasks that did validate. Which could have been the result of heavy CPU throttling. Again pointing towards heat.

I'm on my phone trying to look this up. Someone, like Mark, should put all that data in a spreadsheet to sort through the data better by separating the errors, invalids and valids for CPU then do it again for the GPU in that box.
