fisher, because that would require changes to physcial code, and we think people get more than enough email during a day. This does a heck of alot more than email does, it allows response and stores a history. Further to that emailing pms would require inner code changes to FuseTalk, something I know fusetalk is not interested in doing until they do a new build later next year. Oh, and no other on forum on the planet does this

As a bonus, those of us not using Windows would be able to get the emails, but not use this.

Huh? How may I ask did you draw that conclusion? I stated the reasons why, the main being that fusetalk wont be doing feature builds for awhile? How is that treating you like you are 2? Geesh. Talk about reading into words It just isn't going to happen right now, thats all

Robert, at this time it will only work here as its in "alpha" testing here. This may not see the light of day, we're field testing this to see if people would use it.

This will only happen if your url/id/username/password are not right. Double check em, triple check em.

Jason, I'm curious about the whole firewall thing. Does the client actively poll the server for pm's then? If half the people here started running it would that place significant extra load on the servers?
Weird that a firewall would stop this when normal forum browsing traffic is allowed

I'll be interested to sniff this with ethereal when/if I ever get around to installing it

I'm getting the same problem, & I know mine are correct - I just logged out of the forums & then logged back in using the same username/password.

Re-typed them 3 times into the FTPM, no change.

Also, it appears to try the username/password I enter four times - I get four consecutive messages saying they're incorrect before I have a chance to go change them.
