Problem with GeForce 3 Fan

My friend has a Leadtek GeForce 3 Ti500 and out of the blue the fan stop spinning. A bit of a play with the power connector with the fan, works like a charm. Restart the computer and once again the fan just sits there. Try to push in the power connector again, no effect. He has not modded the video card or overclocked it or screwed around with it in any way. He has plenty of power with a juicey 350watt power supply. So now he has a video card which he can fry an egg on and he needs to know how to fix it. Any ideas?

Dirty fan? Have you tested the voltage?

Or it may be a bad solder joint.

Get a new fan. A thermal take blue orb or crystal orb, check out www.thermaltake.com or www.newegg.com those particular fans should be compatible with the Geforce 3, not the one made for the Gforce 4, because of different fan hole mounting sizes on the video card PCB.

I had a fan go bad too. My uncle had one go bad on his Leadtek Gforce4 Ti 4200. I gave a spair fan from my Gforce 4 Ti 4200 since I modded out my video card.

I agree the orbs are a perfect fit for a GF3.
