Hi,
A few weeks back I started noticing some major artifacts appearing on my Prophetview 720 monitor, I called up Hercules and arranged a RMA. The broken monitor was collected and a replacement was delivered. The replacement monitor works fine but I noticed that it was manufactured Jan 2002 [so I assume I received a refrubished unit] however my original unit was manufactured Feb 03.
I checked up a bit more and found out that my replacement monitor has a different P/N from my original one and that it is slightly different at the back. Although the monitor has no dead pixels, am I right in assuming that because the monitor is relatively old, it has a higher chance of developing dead pixels than my original monitor did? I have contacted Hercules and they told me that the manufacture date does not matter and they couldnt help me as long as the monitor works.
Should I chase them up on this or just leave it? Also I assume the resale value [on eBay] of this monitor is lower as it is a year older and that it is an older revision [according to the P/N]?
Finally, does anyone know if Hercules used the same TFT panel for the life of the Prophetview 720? I don't know if its just me being paranoid but there seems to be more ghosting with this monitor than the last.
Any help is apprecited.
