Problem with logging into certain sites

Hi, I've recently been having some strange problems with my PC. I am connected to the web through a Netgear Router. The problem I am having is that I can't seem to log into any webpages which require a log in, for example Yahoo Mail, Hotmail and eBay. In IE I get a 'this page cannot be displayed' message, and in Firefox and Opera all I get is a blank page - this is after I have typed in my details and clicked log in. I ran Spybot, AdAware and NAV but no problems were found. I have not installed anything new on this PC apart from the latest Windows Updates that came out a few days ago. It is running Windows XP SP2. I have another 2 PC's on the network and they log into the websites fine so it?s definitely a problem on my end. Short of reformatting, is there anything I can try to fix this problem? Also restarting the PC sometimes fixes the issue but only for 30 minutes or so.

Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win 98\ME = C:\WINDOWS

if not, then search for it...

anyways...see if there are entries that should be there that could be blocking access...

of course that doesn't explain the restarting the pc fixing the issue for 30 minutes...that part is odd

try safe mode w/networking?
