problem with mfc42.dll

The application is Easy CD Creator 4.05

when i try to open the cd jewel creator i get an error message thats says 'cdjewel has caused a problem in mfc42.dll"

I uninstalled and re-install the app.
I upgraded 4.02 to 4.05 version from roxio.
I restored the latest version(6.0.8447.0) of mfc42.dll from the ME install cd.
I renamed all versions outside of windows\system to .bak

but i still get the error!

I also wrote to roxio and yamaha(it was bundled with the CRW2100EZ), but I'm guessing that might take awhile.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

Instead of reinstalling mfc42.dll from your CD, try doing a search for the most recent version that you can find. A lot of programs over-install that .dll file. Maybe if you can find an even newer version, both the program and your OS will be happy.
