problem with p4vxasd2+

ive got a 1.7 celeron, 512 of oem ddr ram, and a radeon 9000. the problem is that it crashes in the begginging when it is booting up and doin a memory check. it freezes at the point where it isay checking vram. can someone please tell me which jumpser to set? am i doing it wrong? is it the ram? should i try another motherboard?

You got the Fry's Special? Well check to see if you have the Jumpers right for DDR and make sure that it's not set for SDR RAM. If I'm not mistaken there is a jumper in between the 2 sets of DIMM Slots. Also you have to change like 30 jumpers on the far top right hand side if this is the mobo i'm thinking about.

If your settings are correct, might be the cheap ram

yes this is the right mb. Think I'll try the new ram method.... Has anyone else had a problem liek this?

Well.. you better make sure you have the RAM settings right, cuz i think you might be able to do potential damage to your mobo and ram.

thanks guys, I returned the motherboard for another one and it never turned on. After some research I found out this MB has a misoprint on the manual about where the jumpers should be. After I switched this everything worked fine. I'm still not sure if the orignial MB jumpers were set right, but as long as everything works right?
