problem with sound in Windows98

I installed the LearnKey win2k pro software and am having trouble running this. First it wouldn't play at all, all I would get would be a error messege saying "mmsystem281 this file could not be played, check filename or install a driver that supports this type of file" I have been able to get the "mmsystem281" error messege to go away and I am now able to run the software, I did this by adding [mci extensions]avi=AVIVideo to my win.ini file. But am still unable to get any audio from this software. Niether the LearnKey or the professor teaches series of software can get the audio, I ran the dianostics from from the creative directory and everything checks out good there. Am I missing another mci extension?
My computer dual boots with Windows2000 and if I run these apps in Windows2k, they work fine.

This is a dual boot system with 98se and 2k, the software runs fine in 2k but no sound in 98se. I have the latest drivers from creative labs site. The sound card is a SB Live! value. Any ideas? I am open to all suggestions on this.

Ok, this problem has been resolved, I finally removed the Multimedia entry from the windows setup section of add/remove programs and then reinstalled it. Now I have sound and video with this software.
