Problem with Uniden WNR2004 wireless router

I got the Uniden wireless router/access point and wireless card deal from outpost. The router is model WNR2004. I got it so I could have wireless acess for a laptop. When I set it up, I had internet but every time I tried to load AOL Instant Messenger it crashed the router. Has anyone else had the same type of problem. I have Windows XP. I've been using a different router(wired) for now til I figure this out. Thanks for any info you guys/gals can provide!

does the router work at all? or does it crash every time you try to make aim work??

It works when I try to load IE and stuff like that. I can even load the comp game I play but as soon as I try to load AIM, it dies. I open command promt and leave it ping yahoo and get 30ms constant, then the instant try to log onto AIM, it goes to "Request Timed Out".
