Problems with RAID 1 array

I left my PC on when I went away for Christmas break for about 3 weeks, and when I came back I was greeted by this screen.

I told it to duplicate the array and then got this message

Not sure what to do at this point. All the data appears to be OK, when I look at it in windows, but I guess that is just the source drive I am seeing. I ran the hitachi drive fitness software and they passed the basic (or normal I forget what they call it) test on both drives and it came back OK.

I am going to run the advanced test later (it will take awhile) but other than that I don't know what else to do?

I know the older versions of the Asus firmware had some issues with RAID; not sure about yours.

It's a thought.

Did you run the diagnostic on each drive separately? Not 100% percent certain from your post.

Look at the error message in your first pic. The problem is your source drive. You can't duplicate from the source as it's the problem drive.

If the drive(s) test OK, change the cables. If that doesn't fix it, swap the drives. See if the problem moves to the other channel. If it doesn't, it's the motherboard.

Ran the diagnostics on both drives seperately, ran the advanced one last night, came out OK. I am going to change the cables ina little bit and see if that helps.

Remember, the source drive is the problem. Swap the drives (just switch the cables) and see if the array will rebuild.

Raid 1 is not reliable. You're not going that much faster, striped, with the speeds of the drives today.
Raid 5 is the way to go, if raid you must.

Ummm, RAID 0 = striping and RAID 1 = mirroring. Read the title.

Doh, I just realized what I typed and came back to correct it. It's been awhile since I had raid rigs.

Swapped the cables for the two drives last night, duplicated and it works fine now. Don't know what the problem was, but not complainng as long as it works.
