I am a MFA grad student and will be needing a projector as an aid for my art I have been researching for 2 or so days now not long but i can't find any real reviews that give me a sense of what I will be getting. these are my needs I will be projecting off angle so i don't have to lean out of the way so I need angle adjustment, there are 2 florescent lights making a well lit room I need to work with the light on to see my colors so a projector that will not fad that will still hold a solid color true picture is a must. I also like my movies and games so how important is a DVI connection it seems most projectors even the $1000+ still run a VGA.

This is what I have in mind:
http://catalog2.panasonic.com/...361&surfModel=PT-LB51U

It has the keystone correction
?daylight view technology?
But its VGA

Thanks - joe

most projectors with dvi/hdmi are home theater not business and home theater projectors tend not to be ass bright as business ones, since you have a bright room you need a bright projector (and no inexpensive projectors work all that well in really bright rooms). Where are the lights in comparison with the screen, if the lights don't directly hit the screen then you have a lot more options then if they do (if they do then the projector will be competing with them).

A feature you might want to look for (though there aren't too many inexpensive projectors with it) is "optical lens shift", which will help with your angle issue (keystoning kind of will work but it will alter the picture).

its a soft light there 2 over head industrial type lights no hot spots and about 12ft high its in my studio. panasonic has a something call daylight view technology but at 2000 lumens (i wish i could just test drive befor i buy). i gess if i can't have HDMI i might as well just be ok with VGA. I will have to look in too optical lens shift . thanks jkresh

i found this
"Nevertheless, on any projector the use of digital keystone adjustments results in a reduction of pixels in use and a reduction in lumen output since a portion of the pixels on the display are rendered black to accomplish the reshaping of the image. A mild keystone adjustment won't matter much in this regard, but if you made aggressive use of keystone adjustment, say up to the 30 degree limit on these projectors, you would indeed compromise both physical resolution and lumen output. Furthermore, the aggressive use of horizontal keystone adjustment will always result in a dimming of the picture, not only from the reduction in pixels in use, but also because shooting the image at the screen from a radical angle will cause light to bounce off at the opposite angle, rather than back toward the center where the viewers are likely to be located."

so if i limit my angle i will be ok? i can seem to find the lens shift option Nec is supose to have it

here is a link with lens shift http://www.newegg.com/Product/...umens+800%3a1+-+Retail

its $3500 or so but is has lens shift http://www.necvisualsystems.co...482d-b974-06cd77a707d9
