It also has the Promise Ultra100 TX2 IDE controller. I had major problems with it off and on for months. I thought the card was defective but Promise support wouldn't RMA it. I bought another card (same model) for my new machine and inserted the suspect card in my new machine and never had a problem with it. The new card also had problems in the Epox 8K7A machine. Sometimes the machine would not boot. I switched slots, and although I am currently only using the machine on rare occasions, I've not had that problem since. Both my machines are Windows 2000 SP3 (although the Epox is a multiboot machine), and I had persistent annoying problems on both machines using the latest Promise driver for Windows 2000 (version 2.0.0.34), so I'm using version 2.0.0.29 on both machines and those problems have disappeared. Mostly the problems involved my Intellimouse Explorer jumping erradically. Promise support purportedly was unaware of problems with the new drivers, but I'm not the only guy to report this problem. BTW, Promise support is accessible. For me it's not even a toll call - they are around 10 miles from me.
