Proper Ebay Etiquette

Ok, this is really bothering me.

I won an auction for an item on Friday, so I emailed the seller and asked the usual questions (how much w/shipping, preffered method of payment, etc) and they took a good day to get back to me. I responded to their email very quickly early Saturday and havent received a reply....its Sunday night. WTF, Its been a day and a half and no reply. I mean, I understand if you have things to do, or you are away, but TELL ME. Im sitting here waiting for a response and people dont have the common decency to reply promptly.

Not only that, I was selling an item on Ebay and it ended on Saturday (yesterday) afternoon, so I contacted the highest bidder. Well, its been a whole day and NOTHING. I emailed him/her twice and have yet to get a response. I know the period is 3 days, but still......who waits 3 days to contact the buyer/seller, thats ridculous. Come on people show some compassion. I hate when people take their time and youre waiting on the other line because you have deadlines and what not.

The whole thing drives me NUTZ.

eBay ppls are usually pretty slow to reply; weekends only accentuate that slowness

If it's been 3 days start worrying. Not everyone sits on the computer 24/7.

I know, I know. Im one of those guys that expects too much from people. I would atleast email the person and say " Hey, I wont be around this weekend, but I will contact youy first thing Monday". Atleast it shows that they are indeed interested in your item.

If someone only uses the computer from work (I know, "the horror&quot and your auction ended on Saturday, they won't even know they won until Monday. Also I think some of the bigger sellers on there use some kind of automated program and that seems to slow things down. I've emailed some sellers before and they still just wait for their program to do it for them.

Usually on Saturdays and Sundays you don't hear from the seller or bidder until later on. Weekends are slow.

Yeah but when you win an auction I would think that you would like to keep tabs on it.

I guess I just don't do enough ebayin. (I hate that place)

Its 3 business days to respond. Follow the rules.

The fact is there are 3 folks on ebay:
1. The quick responders/payers (paypal etc).
2. The slow polks, i've had to wait 3 weeks for payment.
3. The non-responders (losers).

1 is nice, but about 50% of them are #2.

On ebay, what my experience you have to wait 1-2 days to get response...usually weekend hardly anyone response...
After 3 days then you start worry about the status of the transaction.

hey relax guy, 1 day is not a long period. most people aren't glued to the computer 24hrs a day or don't have high speed access to log into.

People usually have outdoor activities on weekends, unlike some people who sit in front of the computer waiting for ebay correspondences

I'm with ya Infected. Buying and selling sh!t on ebay is a matter of business, therefore, it should take some sort of priority. Money is involved therefore it's important and deserves promptness.
