Is this where we get to hear how the presidency is sacred and should be respected like we did with Bush but not with Obama? Yeah! Lets enjoy four years of Republican hypocrisy.

What action has Trump taken as President to... oh, wait, he hasn't yet.
These protestors are assaulting the very notion of election, of peaceful transfer of power.

Well, it's not a stretch to think they're protesting because he's a bigot and misogynist. Hell, even Republicans called him on it. Eg. Mitt Romney, John McCain.

Protesting Trump but also the DNC, like the one guy said. Not sure whether to be glad about the protests or scared. (For them)

That being said, I I just checked this page with another browser w/o adblock (because people quoting invisible people, confused...)....HOLY ADSPACE batman, 80% ads and 20% content. WTF.

Considering how Trump behaved himself and the awful things he's said and done before and during the campaign, I'm really not surprised at all that these protests have occurred.

I'm sure I need not refresh anyone's memory about the many many insulting and very un-presidential things he's said and done, right?

So now that he's going to be our president, I really don't see how that changes who he is deep down inside.

Trump is Trump. Amen.

Looks like a bunch of spoiled brats being told 'no" for the first time in their life. I think this election is giving some people a healthy dose of reality and that's a damn good thing.

Yeah I'm all for the protests, their civil right and part of a healthy democracy. That's if it doesn't turn destructive/violent (which I believe it has in some places).

I see a lot of young people in these protests. They are one night too late. Voting is typically more effective than vandalism.

I'd pay close attention to them in the sense that they are the voters of the future for decades to come.

In my mind, they will forever remember this remarkable event and I'm thinking they will do their civic duty in future elections to prevent something like this from happening again.

IMO, they're protesting the man and not the process or consequences that got him elected.

I'd also be hesitant to lump the protesters in with others in their age group. Young people are more progressive for sure, but for every sjw I'd hazard to guess there's dozens of level headed people.

Or it could just be the participation trophy echo chamber demographic feeling the sting of defeat for the first time.

Such laughable hypocrisy. Good on them to show their vitriol and drop the facade. No doubt they think of themselves as "good people". That is the precisely the line of thinking that leads to heinous acts. That is not to say Republicans have some outright nasty followers of their own, but if you can't accept this results, then you are not better than Trump saying the system is rigged.

Are some of you really asking why they are protesting? I didn't vote for Hillary but he was sexist, racist, made fun of handicapped people, said he is going to stop certain people from coming into the country, made voters that weren't his part of America outsiders. He didn't run a campaign that everyone would be fine with.

When was the last time an American president had protests against them after they won the presidency?

Some, many (?) didn't necessarily vote for H. In fact, millions thought being betrayed from the beginning. Voting between the famous Turd Sandwich and Shit Cakes. General anger, against Trump, the system etc. And I understand them.

By exercising their 1A rights to peacefully assemble? Seriously? Wow, just wow...

This wasn't a business as usual election though. Trump got elected to clean house, simple as that. That's going to piss some people off for sure.

This has some "good" potential. (Sorry for this nightmare scenario). Now picture some clashes with right-winger anti-protestors and/or so called "Trump Brown Coats". This will likely come. There is a giant powder-keg and the very end of the fuse has just been lit. (Way earlier than I thought actually).
Not to sound dramatic (but I totally admit I am ), then you can cross the "United" part off from "States of America". And I foresaw this coming...

Of course he became president by getting voted in but everything he said to me get there divided the country. His road to the Whitehouse did not make America as a whole feel comfortable with him being president. His own actions caused these protests. Did the left protest when Bush Jr won? Did the right protest when Obama won?

These people are afraid their voices will be rendered silent. That their desires for the future of their country will be cast aside. This is their reminder that they too have a voice and they will be the voice of the future.

Don't forget. This is how the 18-25 demographic said they would be voting in the two weeks prior to the election.
