I find it amusing because first you claim that winning doesn't prove he is good, while repeating the common liberal character assault which... guess what? It doesn't prove he is bad at doing the job of a president.
I mean, on the one hand you realize there is a difference between rhetoric and real political skills, but then later in your post you forget that you made that point and you try to imply that lack of political correctness equates to being a bad president.
That Trump is the same womanizing crass arrogant asshole does not in any way mean that he's the less qualified, less talented, less dedicated or less loyal candidate before or after he got elected.
I'd say you've a salient point or two of which I can agree with *within the context you've defined*. However, I'm definitely not repeating any kind of "liberal character assault" when describing Trump. It's just my personal stated opinion of the guy, and I'd think what I described him as is for all intent and purpose, common knowledge. I'm neither attacking him nor denigrating him as far as I'm concerned. I'm just utilizing his well known notoriety as a basis to make a point about how some folks are attacking the opposition party in lieu of the fact that there's not much good, if any, that can be said about Trump and his notorious character.
Lack of political correctness? It's my considered opinion that Trump despises political correctness and is anathema to his true character. That's just who he is, and it not a character trait that bodes well for the position he will inherit, nor is his habit of having his mouth being two hops, a skip and a slide in front of his brain (The Biden Effect).
That being said, I can freely admit that I cannot foretell the future and predict with any kind of accuracy how well Trump will do as POTUS. That was not my intent, although I do wish him the best.
The point I was attempting to make IRT that part of my post was that as far as his character, his personality, his being is concerned, he's not going to transform himself into something other than who he is the day he gets sworn in. In time, he may make some needed adjustments to who he is at present, but he's still going to be essentially the same guy whose rants and raves have become practically iconic in nature..
Whether that's a good thing or bad is beside the point I was making. Whether the traits that's been hard wired into him will make him the best president we'll ever have is beyond me, although applying common sense and logic would give a person pause as far as Trump's past and present behavior is concerned.
I hope I've adequately addressed your concerns in this matter.
