Is this the point where we forget about all the sleazy shit he has done and pretend it never happened?

Nope. After we fine the shit out of him and get our wasted money back. Maybe a bit of time in pound him in the ass prison too for good measure.

Then I'm good.

When has there been a national election for the potus that didn't include a democratic nomination? Lol

Again, I was talking about the national election (and past national elections) and you keep saying that I was talking about elections the country over.

Just in case you didn't realize, a majority of people have voted for a Democrat in 6 of the last seven elections.

Looks like you are fucking wrong, again.

Apparently I'm capable of reading your posts and you aren't.
Fine what is it that I said again? Oh it was 6 of the last 7 instead of 7 of 8

Oh I bow down to you for finding a mistake I made since you were busy finding that instead of actually arguing the point I made since you know it was correct

Not sure if this has been posted but here is Pruitt's resignation letter.
God help us all...

"Mr. President, it has been an honor to serve you in the Cabinet as Administrator of the EPA. Truly, your confidence in me has blessed me personally and enabled me to advance your agenda beyond what anyone anticipated at the beginning of your Administration. Your courage, steadfastness and resolute commitment to get results for the American people, both with regard to improved environmental outcomes as well as historical regulatory reform, is in fact occurring at an unprecedented pace and I thank you for the opportunity to serve you and the American people in helping achieve those ends.

That is why is hard for me to advise you I am stepping down as Administrator of the EPA effective as of July 6. It is extremely difficult for me to cease serving you in this role first because I count it a blessing to be serving you in any capacity, but also, because of the transformative work that is occurring. However, the unrelenting attacks on me personally, my family, are unprecedented and have taken a sizable toll on all of us.

My desire in service to you has always been to bless you as you make important decisions for the American people. I believe you are serving as President today because of God’s providence. I believe that same providence brought me into your service. I pray as I have served you that I have blessed you and enabled you to effectively lead the American people. Thank you again Mr. President for the honor of serving you and I wish you Godspeed in all that you put your hand to."

I've heard of "dear John" letters but a "dear leader" letter? That's a first.

Meanwhile the EPA is trying to bury a report on formaldehyde that links concentrations Americans are exposed to as a leukemia risk because companies fear liability.

The Trump administration is suppressing an Environmental Protection Agency report that warns that most Americans inhale enough formaldehyde vapor in the course of daily life to put them at risk of developing leukemia and other ailments, a current and a former agency official told POLITICO.

The warnings are contained in a draft health assessment EPA scientists completed just before Donald Trump became president, according to the officials. They saidtop advisers to departing Administrator Scott Pruitt are delaying its release as part of a campaign to undermine the agency’s independent research into the health risks of toxic chemicals.

Decades’ of research has linked formaldehyde to nose and throat cancer and respiratory problems, and newer research has suggested the connection to leukemia — controversial conclusions that would gain significant credence if EPAformally adopts them. The new assessment affirms those links to leukemia, nose and throat cancer and other ailments, according to the current and former officials familiar with its findings.

White, the top staffer for the American Chemistry Council’s Formaldehyde Panel, wrote the EPA three times between September 2017 and January 2018, urging the agency to incorporate industry-funded research that found no link between formaldehyde and leukemia, and arguing that the studies shifted the scientific consensus away from the conclusion that it does. In November, Pruitt appointed her to the agency’s influential Science Advisory Board.

Less than a week after the council's Jan. 24 meeting with EPA, Pruitt himself confirmed that the report had been complete for months. During a Senate hearing at the end of January, Markey asked Pruitt for an update on the formaldehyde assessment, saying it was his understanding “that the EPA has finalized its conclusion that formaldehyde causes leukemia and other cancers and that [the] completed new assessment is ready to be released for public review, but is being held up."

You have a really strange way of trying to bring people over to your side. If anything, I probably would have voted for Bernie Sanders if given the chance during the last election, because I actually believed the words that he said. I didn't agree with all of them, but at least he seemed sincere. With Clinton, it always felt like she was telling me what she thought we wanted to hear just to get elected, only to end up with another 4 or 8 years of corporate overlords pulling the strings behind the scenes.

I hope that moderate Democrats learned the lesson from 2016... it's going to take more than "Vote for us, she's at least 25% less crooked than Trump!" to win the next election.
Don't count on it. It's pretty telling just based on posts here.

They still have the misconception that their side is full of angels and that everyone just needs to see the light. In reality it's the same man behind the stage, just a left hand holding the puppet instead of a right hand with the puppet.

I don't think he's trying to bring you over to his side. Lost causes are a drain, ya know? I don't blame him for not trying.

25%? Please! She wouldn't have jeopardized the country, its allies, the environment, health, education, people of color, women 75% of what Trump has done. And if you're honest with yourself you know that's true. Very few people thought Hillary was without flaw and that is absolutely a realistic way to elect an official. What the Cultists have done has endangered not only the people they want to hurt but also themselves. I preferred Bernie myself but when the options were Trump or Hillary... Hands down Hillary! Status quo would have been a hell of a lot better than the misery Trump and Putin are visiting upon us. But by all means stay on your side of the fence, the extreme wedgie must be exhilarating... stimulating?
He was really just giving you legit advice on how to win elections instead of losing them, but you guys have your nose held so high you're too inept to appreciate the value.

Pretty clear as day - you guys didn't learn your lesson this past election and you are damned to repeat it.

I completely understand and agree with your point, but I understand Bob's point as well.

He said "I hope that moderate Democrats learned the lesson from 2016... it's going to take more than "Vote for us, she's at least 25% less crooked than Trump!" to win the next election."

And this echo's my feelings exactly. The big thing many democrats on this board seem to keep forgetting is that people don't vote. This country is a liberal country, and all things being equal, the democrats should be winning most of the time. I can go through issue by issue and show where studies have absolutely shown most of the US is on the same page, whether it's abortion, health care, etc etc.

...
What is it about other people on the left that can't see the criticism with the dems and Hillary and simply admit that its true? You can both hate Hillary, and have voted for her - and wish she was president. While also hate the DNC and the democrats for putting you in that situation to begin with, and hate them even more for helping to elect Trump. Because make no mistake, the DNC and the democrats are, even in some small part, responsible for Trump winning by putting up Hillary against him, or at the very least for not campaigning more in the states that would have made it harder to lose.

No - I've been saying this since the election... Democrats lost, Republicans didn't win. Democrats simply didn't turn out to vote - their voting (popular vote) was less than that of 2012, which was less than that of 2008. What does that tell you? Considering our population grows every year, that number should always be going up.

The Russians didn't make fat asses stay on couches. If anything, liberals giving the message of "We have this election in the bag" could have higher argument as the reason for the loss.

I hope someone checked Pruitt's pockets on the way out.

Serious question: can anyone name a more corrupt cabinet level official in US history? There probably is one but none are coming to mind. He was only in office for 18 months and he racked up 15(?) federal ethics investigations. He was averaging close to one new ethics investigation a month!

I suspect that if there is another one, they're probably serving right now and just need more time to outdo Pruitt.

Sounds like a compulsion. You can get sores from that.

Stay healthy man... Maybe don't touch yourself so much especially while reading non-sexually generated (toward you) posts? To each his own really but I bet you could have a fuller life without all the obsessive masturbation.

The problem is that his advice comes down to Democrats need a nearly perfect candidate to win against the worst possible Republican candidate. If that is actually true then we might as well kick off Civil War 2 because that is where we are at.

I think people might underestimate how serious this issue is. We have a minority party who now controls all three elected parts of government and the Supreme Court despite winning the most votes for president exactly once in the last quarter century. This same party has abused electoral rules so badly that it may lose the upcoming election by eight points and still retain power. As a point of comparison Obama was widely viewed to have crushed McCain and he won by about 7 points. So yes, a mere 2008 Obama Democratic wave might still give Republicans a majority.

Although I think it’s dumb I’m willing to accept that in our system there are some circumstances where the party with the most votes doesn’t get the most power. What we have here though is a situation where the minority party controls government if they win, if they tie, and if they lose, just so long as they don’t lose in a historic landslide. (And even then the opposition’s margin will be small) This is toxic for democracy and even conservatives should oppose it if they care about country more than party.
