Best Buy and Future Shop, pretty much. In Canada.

I need a PS/2 keyboard to get into BIOS. Even with supposed legacy USB support, I can't get into BIOS with my new system via my USB keyboard.

You could call up independent computer shops which recycle and take in old computers or even second hand stores.

A lot of usb mice I bought in the past came with a usb to ps/2 adapter. I threw them all in the trash unfortunately.

as long as the keyboard supports the PS/2 signal, those cheap passive adapters should work.

Heh. Never ever throw away any extras like cables you have leftover from builds. You never know when you'll need them.

I have about 20 SATA cables now

I don't think the mouse adapters will work with keyboards, I haven't had much luck with them. My guess is that the adapter has a bit of hardware to provide identification to the USB controller for the device that's connected to it (in this case "I'm a mouse!").

Re: PS/2 keyboard - ebay? I would have thought that one would be available for peanuts.

This is probably the best case for getting a cheap PS/2 keyboard if you need one. The other place to look, besides the bigger stores like Best Buy, would be office supply stores like Staples, Office Max, etc. as they may still have PS/2 keyboards in-stock on the shelves.

GOODWILL or other second hand stores. That's the only place I have seen them. I just bought two very nice ergonomic keyboards for $2.28 apiece last week out of a bin of twenty. Otherwise buy a USb keyboard and a USB to PS/2 converter.

Make sure you pick up a pair of earmuffs for each person you are living with as well...

I've never understood that fascination with the ridiculous sound that accompanies those types of KB. Nostalgia I guess?
