PS3 & DVD movie ISOs

I'm thinking about getting a PS3 with the price cut and all and I have a question for PS3 owners. I have *ahem* many DVD movie ISOs. Is it possible to play an ISO of a DVD movie on the PS3 from, say, a USB hard drive? Perhaps (and I'm sure this is too much to hope) even from a samba or other file share on a server of some sort?

without installing linux, it might be possible to stream it from a pc, im not familiar with all the streaming softwares so im not sure if you can stream a vob.
