IT was garbage if you weren't an SW geek or understand all the references.

If you were a SW geek (which luckily I am), it was bloody hilarious. F'n genius to the max.

I HATE Star Wars and I thought it was a riot.

Now, is it just me, or have I seen a half-dozen of those clips elsewhere before? Like from previous episodes or something?

I distinctly remember seeing the couch gag, the R2 pistol shooting, the R2 vs RealPlayer bit. Did they incorporate those from past episodes or am I just crazy?

Excellent episode. A bit different, but pretty cool. Anyone else notice the Coach from Home Movies in the Cantina?

You probably saw the preview released on the net awhile ago (maybe a month or two?). I believe it was posted here at ATOT.

I thought the episode was actually pretty bad

The 10 minute leak was funnier than the whole episode that was put together.

There were some funny parts but the parts that tried to be funny but just weren't out numbered the funny parts IMO.

Did anyone catch Coach McGuirk in the back in the cantina scene?

It was a pretty good episode overall, I was expecting them to cover more than just the first one. I actually thought the funniest part was the end when Chris and Peter were arguing about Robot Chicken. Yeah it was a shameless plug (and really the Robot Chicken one kinda sucked since they'd already done half the content in other episodes), but I still thought it was funny.

Roger from American Dad was in there too.

BTW- highlights of the episode were released on Youtube- maybe you saw it there.

I agree, overall very meh. But, to me, all the mediocre humor set up the truly hillarious stuff.

I can't even think about the Porkins scene without laughing.

And the "What are we paying by the laser now?!" OMG.

The main thing I had against the Robot Chicken episode was that half of it was snippets from previous episodes, all mishmashed into one.
It also incorporated bits from all of the movies.

"He doesn't like you.
"That's not what I said!"
"I'm sorry."
"I don't like you either!"

"I can't even see! How'm I supposed to fight?"
*nut kick*

And RC had the decency to kill Jar Jar. Sort of.

I also thought it was funny that Rush was on there. Wouldn't he just go nuts dissing them for the Bush/Cheney tag on the Star Destroyer? Just one more bit of evidence that his whole show may just be an act to get more ratings and money. Oh well.

Did nobody else appreciate the in-character argument at the end between Seth McFarlane (creator of Family Guy) and Seth Green (creator of Robot Chicken) about the legitimacy of the Robot Chicken Star Wars episode. It took me half a minute to get what was going on and then I was cracking up.

I also loved where peter was singing along to the music while trying to blast the tie fighters.

I don't think this episode was about straight up hilarity, because it definitely was not that. it was an "how many obscure references can you get" episode. The more references you got the more hilarious it was.

Well, it was a flat out parody done by a show that has used timely parody as one of it's artifacts........................and I'm not sure how well it worked only because I just kept thinking they could have done this show a dozen times and have never made the same show twice. I found myself wondering why they picked certain parts of the movie and not others.

It feels like the parts that were left out hit the editing room floor.

Na man. That movie is a parody goldmine. But Family Guy doing Star Wars is kinda like dropping a fat guy off at a food court. Where will he eat? How much will he eat at each place? What is he not going to have room to eat that he was hoping to get to? Etc. better yet, it's like watching a home run derby and you can't help but wonder why those guys aren't jacking 100 pitches in a row out of the park when they're just lobbing them.

In other words there was too much potential to ever be realized.

You are selling birkenstocks. The only opinion you should have is what incense scent best melds with your excessive BO and the patchouli you use to mask it.
