It seems my Power Supply only has 1 PCI-E 6 pin connector and a 12V 4 pin connector. The 4 pin 12v connector wont work in the 260 GTX will it? Also, that 4 pin connector is currently plugged into my mobo. Am I going to need to buy a 4 pin to 6 pin pci-e cable converter like (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E16812201004)?

hmmmm which of the 12v rails goes to the GPU and does it share with anything else?

12v x 18amp = 216w
12v x 20amp = 240w

GTX 260 has a TDP of 206w

let me take a look online to see which rail gets the PCI-E connector

seems like Apevia does not have a good reputation on hardwaresecrets.com and that's probably why your particular PSU wasn't reviewed

are you overclocking your CPU? try to get a power supply that can do about double of the watts you'll need for best efficiency

Apevia (aspire) sells junk power supplies...one of the worst brands on the market today... NONE of their OEM's are considered "Good" power supply companies...

Throw that thing in the trash can and buy a quality power supply before it melts down and takes your expensive components with it.

The thing is, i don't particularly want to spend more money on this computer. It started off as a dead desktop that I brought back to life. I'm basically just wanting to know if that cable converter will suffice? I've read a few threads mentioning it will work and just wanted more people's input. I also knew that this psu wasnt that good, but at the time I was reviving this desktop, it was the best deal.

if you don't want to spend any money, do you have a second power supply lying around? you could use it to help out your first power supply with the video card

Yes, a 4-pin molex to Pci-E adapter will work...or should.

Ok update: I got it working with the converter cable. HOWEVER, now I think my PSU gives out the "fresh electronics/possibly burned wire?" smell -.- It's running fine right now, but I'm wondering if my PSU is about to die? I've tried blowing it out and removing all the dust after waiting 10+ minutes with it completely powered off.

Like I said originally...throw that piece of crap in the trash and replace it with a quality power supply. You can get some very good units for less than $50 that will do much better than the Apevia ever could.

Right now, you can get the Antec Earthwatts 650 Green for $39 after rebate:
(with free shipping)

While that's a Delta build, not a Seasonic build, it's still 100 times better than anything sold with the Apevia brand name.
