So I'm building a new PC, and I ran into this problem:
My GPU (ATI Radeon X700 Pro) requires that it be hooked up to a 300W PSU. The case I am getting is a Shuttle, and the included PSU is 220W (PFC). I have looked for a 300W+ PSU that fits the dimensions for the case (82mm x 43mm x 190mm WxHxD), but the best I found was a Shuttle 250W PFC.
Since PSU's with PFC run about 95% whereas PSU's without PFC run around 70%, I figure:
220W * .95 = 209W as opposed to 300W * .70 = 210W
So do you think my GPU would run on a 220W PFC? 250w PFC? Or should I start looking at external 300W+ PSU and/or a different case?
Any help is much appreciated.
