I'm starting to worry about this deal... Yesterday I tried ordering this ram, and each time I would get a message stating "address does not match credit holders account - Order cancelled" or something to that extent. So figuring I made a spelling mistake or whatever, I went back and tried it again. And again. Each time getting a message at the end stating that the order was cancelled. So I finally gave up, thinking "oh well." Last night I called my credit card company to check on a few things and found out I have 4 charges from Migrate Zone for 4 orders of this ram, even though the web-site told me each time the order was cancelled! (the ram always remained in my shopping cart also).

That's not even the frustrating part... I have called the 866 number about 75 times now, always getting a recorded message stating the service people are all busy. I have tried the Support # at least 25 times, always busy. I emailed customer relations....nothing back. I requested the Managers direct line # from jman2727, so far nothing from him...

Is this a one person shop or what. Any suggestions on how to cancell 3 of these orders before they ship. This is really ticking me off

Anyone have problems like this before?

I spoke with a rep named Greg at about 4:15 pm edt. There is a 3-5 day period for order handling and then shipping. UPS gound should take about 3 days. They were very busy. He had people talking to him in the background and had to put me on hold about 4 times. Someone else came on the line while I was on hold and offered to help so I don't think it's a one man op. One of the conversations I overheard was about an order cancellation and how it was supposed to be handled. They're probably swamped with some of the deals they have and they are new. Whois shows an april reg. date.
One of my concerns was the 64 x 4 designation of the 512mb dimm.
Samsung designates their 512mb dimm as 64 x 8 or 128 x 4. Do the mathe and that equals 512 mb. But 64 x 4 is used in describing their 256mb dimms. So why is this 512mb dimm described as 64 x 4? Anyone know? Greg says that refers to speed.

Wow, glad someone was able to get through to them on the phone. I had the # on speed dial and hit that button every 5 mins or so all afternoon. All I ever got was the recording saying all the customer reps were busy (never got a responce to my email either). Oh well, if they actually go through and charge me for 4 sticks I'll have my CC dispute the charges...and then THEY can contact ME...

Does anyone know if this memory will work with the MSI K7 Pro? (Model # 6195). I'm worried because it has an AMD Chipset and not VIA and I'm not too familar with high density memory in general.

Thanks a bunch!

It seems to me that some time ago there was a discussion regarding how much memory Windows can actually use. I thought that the upper limit was how much your motherboard can hold. Does anyone know what the true answer is?

Windows 98 can use 512mb. It can be fixed to use more than that by changing vcache. There are instructions at Microsoft and a link at the KT7 forum at viahardware. Certain older mobo's couldn't cache more than 64mb or 128mb depending and Windows 95 had other limitations. That's about all I can think of currently. I have no experience with Windows Me or 2k or nt

<< Longcat:

Well I couldn't resist. Bought 3 sticks to max out my Iwill KK266-R server. Looks like it will work acording to Iwill's specs. Hope so...

Keep us informed on how it runs with the KK266. I have one too and would like to know all the usual stuff (what is the CL that you are running at, what was the fastest you can run the RAM, any problems.)

Thanks

gmccall: I had the similar problem, I tried my credit card 3 times, and always had "approoval denied" , so then I tried another cc, and it worked absolutely fine ... I should check, maybe they charged me 3 times too : (

I called my CC company today and found out that Migrate Zone had been "approved" to charge my card 4 times, but had not actually charged it. They are just approved should they decide to charge me. So I guess each time I got the message stating my address was incorrect, it was good enough for my CC company to give the go-ahead. Now I just have to sit back and see if Migrate Zone decides to proceed and charge my card 4 times (My CC said they could not un-approve them... At that point I can dispute the charges).

What ticks me off is that I have tried calling no less than 200 times and have never gotten through to actually talk to anybody. I definately don't want to order from them now, but want to make sure they aren't planning on charging/shipping the ram. No replies to my emails either. I know some people have said they have good service, but what if you can't reach the service??? :|

What's the difference between high density and normal raam? (is normal ram low density?) I thought high-density meant there would be ram chips on both sides of the dimm as opposed to one side (which i thought was low density)

Don't try to run high density memory on an 815 chipset board. If you are lucky it will recognize half of it. Seems I read somewhere that 815s don't deal well with >512 MB anyway, or is that just a fig newton of my fevered imagination?

I also ordered on the 21st and have gotten nothing except a confirmation email without a UPS tracking number. My order number was just over 1,000, so I get the feeling this may be a fly-by-night or new operation. Please report if anyone actually gets there order and tell us how the RAM works.

Correct, as the chipset is limited to 512MB max.

the 815 chipset is limited, but I was just gonna use the one chip anyways...so it really won't work?

Just curious, why the heck would anyone order generic Ram from questionable companies when you can get PC133 CL3 Crucial shipped 2nd day to your door for ~$56 and CL2 for ~$59? I know Mushkin and others are more, but Crucial has to be better than the stuff you're getting on these "deals" that charge you $10+ in shipping.

Just my little editorial...if you need a link, here's one, though I'm sure you can find it elsewhere:
