PULLED: POSSIBLE VENDOR FRAUD

So what is the story here? Is this a good deal or is the company to be avoided? And if I should avoid them, where else should I look for 512mb non-ECC PC133 RAM? Crucial does not seem to have it on their web site, ECC only.

Update: I need this memory for an IBM 300PL machine. The IBM website says it supports 512mb SDRAM. Does anyone know what chipset it is and whether it will work with this finicky memory?

Mushkin has 512mb with IBM chips.
Your IBM may not support 512mb in 1 dimm.
Mushkin HD 64x4 $79 w/IBM chips
Mushkin 32x8 reg density w/Nanya chips $99 better compatibility

The IBM PC300 definitely supports 512mb in one DIMM. Not sure that the IBM memory chips would make for better compatability in the PC, however. It's really more based on the motherboard, isn't it?

You have a Pentium or Celeron. I have senn IBM 300 PL's with rimms but I assume yours don't use those. The second link in my post above to Mushkin should be compatible memory for you. At least according to the description.

WARNING! WARNING!

Just got my 512 meg stick, put it in my MSI K7T Turbo. I pulled my CAS2 133Mhz Micron 128mb stick out.

Upon bootup, I got BEEP BEEP BEEP. So I stuck the 128mb back in, went into BIOS and changed the setting from 133 to 100.

It booted up fine. So it will not boot at 133Mhz. SO I booted into Windows XP at CAS2. About 15 seconds in, I was in the start menu, and everything just froze up. Had to hit the reset button to reboot, went into BIOS and changed the setting from CAS2 to CAS3.

Everything is fine now, but I am running the RAM that has a sticker on it that says PC133 CAS2 at PC100 CAS3.

What does that mean? I haven't run any benchmarks or anything yet...

This is starting to sound like a job for the Better Business Bureau...
Fraudulent advertising and all.. I recommend someone post the link for the correct BBB and all of you put in a complaint. Thats the only way to get back at companies like that.

I couldn't get mine to work at the 133 they claim. I bought 3 sticks so you can imagine I'm pissed! Works great at 100FSB but my receipt says 133FSB. If anyone gets a resolution on this let me know. jpn1833@yahoo.com

I sent them an email(and I don't even have my memory yet) detailing the fsb problems. Maybe they'll read it and maybe not. I gave them the impression that their positive handling of the situation could have good results for a new company. Keeping my fingers crossed for mine. If anyone has received this stuff and has something positive to report it would be much appreciated.

The original posting listed an address for Migrate Zone at 10310 Main St, Fairfax, VA.
Last weekend, I dragged a friend out to look for it - and couldn't find any such
address (the new Harris Teeter is 10320, and next to it is the old TJ Maxx). Their current
website lists an address in Woodbridge. Did they move (their trailer?) or did the original
posting send me on a wild goose chase?

Well at least this means I am not crazy.

I think they put those stickers on the memory. I got a 32MB Smart Media card from them too and it has the same exact type of sticker on it.

BTW, did anyone get RAM with a brand name or speed printed on the chips. Mine just have some number which means absolutely nothing to me.

What FAQ are you looking at that says the Abit KT7 does not support high density RAM? I don't see it on the Abit web page. Please post a link, thanks. I ordered some of the Mushkin 256mb PC133 when it was $23 this weekend, now you're scaring me....

After several emails (takes them a long time to reply), but unlike the answer I got from the phone operator, Andrew J. in the email department was able to refund me $14 for the new price of the RAM and the cpu/mobo combo.

For people who ordered more than the RAM, can you check your UPS Shipping notification email? My said it's one pound, but I ordered a cpu, motherboard, ram, and floppy drive. I'm pretty sure that's well over a pound. Did Migrate Zone screw up with my shipment? Or does UPS just put a generic 1 pound in for no reason? I recently had two dvds shippped from amazon, and ups tracking said that's two pounds, which I don't think it is. Heavier doesn't really concern me, I may be getting extra stuff. I already emailed Migrate Zone about this twice in the past two days, still waiting for a reply. Wanted to see if I could get a faster reply here.

Might as well open it up and try it out. Or better yet, sell it. Because if you refuse it, there's a 20% restocking fee, $20 refusal fee, and shipping is forfeited. Which means you'll basicly get nothing back.

OK, I finally found it...

For those of us with an Abit KT7 it says &quot;Note that the KT7 does not currently support the newer very high density DIMMs - these may be described as 256MBit SDRAM devices, or with a RAM type of 64Mx4. This may be fixed in a later BIOS release&quot;.

However. it also says &quot;Other densities such as 8Mx8, 16Mx8, 32Mx4, etc will work&quot;. So the Mushkin 32x4 I bought should work, cool!!

Wow, all the negativity has me concerned. Nonetheless, I will give the RAM a clean slate when it arrives and test it for myself. Since I originated the thread it only makes sense to follow through.

The whole Ghost address also bothers me. Pricewatch is loaded with scam vendors, how they get away with it...Move the trailer.

I cancelled my order on June 28th and got a confirm email from Migratezone.com right after,saying the credit would show up in my cc within 72 hours. So far my cc hasn't been credited . I sent an email 7AM eastern time this morning.But still haven't got any reply. Their orginal web site www.migratezone.com seems having problem too.

i bought a whole bunch of stuff from this company a week or so ago, just got it yesterday, they were pretty helpful, but took a real long time to ship, like over a week, and kept telling me that it already shipped in the morning and when i called back in evening for tracking number they said it will ship the next day. Tell me, when did a charge show up on your credit card? I ordered on June 21st and the only indication of an order I received was the sign off page stating that my order was complete and assigning a #. But my cc still shows no charge as of 5 minutes ago. Did they wait and charge your card near the delivery? Is that how your purchase went?

I really don't know if I even have an order. Called once and they promised a call later, but I never got one.

Please advise.

I just received my ram, like everyone else, I can only get it to run at 100 MHZ CAS3. Time for me to get a RMA# and also dispute with my credit card for product not as described so I won't be charged for any restocking fee.
