Puppy Question: Is this normal?

it really just depends on the breed. my lhasa was not nippy at all as a puppy. It looks like it may have rottweiler or pitbull in it judging by the blue eyes and the coloration, and they are very aggressive dogs. a rolled up newspaper will probably be your best friend for awhile.

I'd say it's natural, too. He's got a lot of energy and he's learning. And I would guess that with you holding him on the ground he thought you were trying to play. You have to understand that puppies don't understand human speech or emotions. They have to be taught what "no" and "bad" mean.

It's normal for puppies to get in frenzies like that, I've had 2 dogs and they both turned out fine once they grew out of it. Just remember to discipline them if they do something really wrong, like pee or drop a duece on your stuff or something.
