Q: Dual-Channel DDR with PC2700?

Hi.

I just got a Shuttle AN35N-Ultra and tried to install two 512MB of Crucial PC2700 DIMM.

Do I have to use PC3200 DIMM to get Dual-Channel feature?
Or two PC2700 can be used to get Dual-Channel?

Since I have an additional 256MB PC2700, I 'd like to use all (1.25GB RAM), if I can't get Dual-Channel with PC2700.

Please let me know.

You can use any speed DDR to get dual channel, I used PC2700 myself for a while (Kingston HyperX). Just make sure to place the DIMMs in the correct DIMM slots, the BIOS will see it and enable dual channel then.

Also, your best bet is to use only 2 DIMMs and to make sure they are as close as possible to being identical. I would not recommend using 3 DIMMs, especially when one of them is not the same size as the other two.

I have two Crucial 512MB PC2700, however, one is Micron chips and another is Samsung chips even though both of them are made by Crucial. I hope it won't make any problem.
