Q-fan on P4P800

I think that is what it is called. Anyways under my BIOS on my p4p800 board it has q-fan what does this do?

just read on the internet that it controlls the CPU fan, should I have this turned on or off?

This is to reduce the RPM of the fans connected to the motherboard (CPU + 2 other fans headers are on the board) when there isn't an extensive use of the CPU. Running the fan(s) slower reduces the fan noise. The idea is that at lower CPU usage, lesser heat is generated by the CPU and components and hence the fan(s) can run at slower speeds since lesser cooling is required.

IMHO, if the noise of the fan(s) is not bothering you, might as well leave it on.
