Quake 3 and Win2K

Many people like Quake 3 on Win2K. Why does it suck on my machine?

The color seems lackluster and extremely dark until until I change /overbrightbits

My microsoft optical USB is just drunk! Even with the sesitivity at 5 or 6.

I'm using Nvidia 6.31 reference drivers because Creative FastTraxx aren't supported.

Also using DX8 and point release 1.27 (I use 1.17 on Win98se)

Any suggestions?

well my fps went up MASSIVLY when I got a hold of some of the leaked NviDia drivers
