Quake 3 vrs Quake 2

I just tried Quake 3 demo, I'm a little disappointed with it. I'm used
to Quake 2 where you would search for clues while fighting you way through
the levels. Q3 seems to be run as fast as you can, shoot as fast as you can
no end in sight..

Is this just the demo, is the full version different?

Q2 was designed as single player in mind. Q3 was designed solely for multiplay against other humans. They both have their ups and downs, but I really like the way I can tweak Q3 and the physics' exploits. Right away you can spot a 733t player in Q3. With Q2, unless you're playing against people you know, it's always a trouble to wonder who isn't cheating.

best place for online Quaking and so on and is it free?

Try Gamespy .It's unlimited shareware, 20.00 to register.Gives you all the servers for the different mods out.
