Why bother playing in a browser when you can play fullscreen and turn up the resolution and graphics options? The graphics are so dated it's fast either way.
The graphics kinda suck going from 1024x768 native to stretching it to 1920x1200. Hope they raise the resolution. BTW to anyone needing an invite, you need to post your email addy and a name for ppl to sign you up as.
I remember the days of endlessly tweaking this game to get 60fps consistently on my 500mhz p3 and voodoo 3 card. Now it runs in a browser on my laptop.
I got invited yesterday. Didn't get around to going through the registration process until just before I was heading for bed so didn't play around with the game much. I did start the 10 skill test match, at least I thought it was to be 10 minutes as the game didn't stop itself. I then manually exited the match and had the determining skill level graphic dispalyed, the received an error popup and the program crashed.
All I can really say is that the graphics look decent for being an older title and it runs fairly fast in the browser.
does anyone else think the weapons are alot spammier in quake live? maybe i haven't played the game in such a long time, but the weapons feel alot spammier now...
I don't. The weapons are pretty much the same as q3, and (rocket/plasma/nade) spamming is a decently legit tactic for purposes of suppression, preventing anyone from chasing you or blocking off a potential path for someone.
Maybe you feel like you're being spammed because there are too many people in the game or too many for the map.
I suppose you could try playing a different map type or size of map.

I also love CTF, it's all I play. Unfortunately, it's hard to find a good CTF server, they're either all full or half empty due to imbalanced teams. And when a server finally fills up, everyone leaves after losing a round if teams are unbalanced.
The game does have a problem with having servers with too many people for a certain map. You can spawn and be killed instantly 15 times in a row in plenty of servers. They need to implement a more robust team balancing system. Teams don't even mix up going map to map. You have to call a vote and nobody is intelligent enough to push F1.
It's a sad revelation of how my DM skill declined in little over 10 years, I used to dominate Rocket Arena II but now I can't even hit people point blank with a shotgun...
