Question about car in morning

Hi Guys,

I notice that when I get in my car (morning and night, when it is cold), the windows and windshields are wet inside. I understand the fogging up part is normal but wet inside is weird. This has been happening only since last week or so. Does anyone know what might be the reason behind it?

Thanks,
Mark.

Inside of the car is warmer than the outside of the car. Simple condesation occurs.

At least that's my guess.

How old is your car, sometimes the rubber seals wear out letting moisture in.

Couple of reasons actually, could be the seals yes. Also, have you spilled anything in your car, liquid that is. Or have you had your car detailed any time soon. If you spilled anything or had your car detailed and it is a newer car, until it completely dry's out, it will make the windshield collect condensation. Otherwise, could just be the extreme's in temp from the inside of your car and the outside. The only other thing, someone is making out in your car that you don't know about.

them pesky little car wetting gnomes.
they sneak in at night through the air vents and soak the inside of your car... :Q

little bastards!!

i'm sure it's probably condensation, it's possible you have a dark interior and light exterior.. the black or dark grey brings in more heat compared to the white exterior of the car producing all the condensation.. that's assuming it's parked in the natural light of the sun.

Thanks guys!

I think it is a mix of all te reasons you guys mentioned. First of all, it has been getting fairly cold here since last week (down to about 30F in morning). Secondly, there is a little "spill" matter going on in my car...actually, the seal on the sunroof is not doing its job and the rain from the last weak leaked a bit through my roof; need to get some crazy glue to seal it up a little. =) Lastly, my car is a red civic where the inside is dark grey/black. So it does get fairly hot inside and I guess that causes all the condensation. Does tinting my windows help with that issue? Just moved from CA to SC and windows not tinted yet but will do that sometimes. Again, thanks alot for the help.

get yourself one of those damp-b-gone setups from a hardware store and put it on the floor of the car. it'll suck up moisture. i used it in a crx with seal problems that had gotten all moldy. it pulled like a gallon of water out of the car. then i could clean off the mold and get the seals fixed.
