I heard some stories about Dell memory and how particular they are when it come to memory being put into their systems. I have a PowerEdge 400SC, and it says that it's "DDR 400 Mhz memory runs optimally on 800 Mhz FSB and it comes with 128MB DDR, ECC, 400MHz, 1X128MB".
So my question is will a Kingston or a house brand work on my Dell as long as it is a DDR, ECC 400Mhz (PC3200). Do I need a pair of 2 512 if I want a 1 gig of memory???? Just want to be sure before I spend a bill on memory. Thanks.
