I have an nVidia nForce2-IGP chip set on an Asus A7N8X-LA mobo. I had a computer shop install an Asus AGP-V9180 graphics card with 64 mb memory.
My nVidia System Utility says my AGP bus is running at 66 mhz. Since my new graphics card uses the NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X how come the AGP bus is only running at 66 mhz?
AIDA32 says my AGP slot is empty but one of my PCI slots is full. Could the computer shop have stuck my Asus graphics card in a PCI slot by mistake or is that where it is supposed to be?
Why did I buy an AGP graphics card if they don't insert it in the AGP slot? My monitor plugs into the back of the graphics card through an opening in the case. Is it possible my AGP slot didn't offer an opening for the monitor plug and that's why my shop used the PCI slot instead?
Help!
P.S. I am wondering if all AGP buses run at a maximum of 66 mhz and the 8X refers to the speed of the GPU.
